Garlic has been a popular ingredient in cooking for ages due to its flavour and numerous health benefits. Garlic powder is a staple in most kitchens, and it's easy to use while cooking. This is why there is always a high demand for garlic powder in the market. In this article, we will guide you through how to make garlic powder in factory.

Step 1: Acquiring Garlic

The first step in making garlic powder is to get garlic bulbs from a reliable source. Indoor farming, hydroponics, and outdoor farming are some common ways of growing garlic. For a factory, outdoor farming is usually the best option since it allows for large-scale production.

Step 2: Harvesting and Sorting

Once you have acquired the garlic bulbs, it's time to harvest them. It is important to sort the garlic at this stage as damaged bulbs will lead to lower quality garlic powder. Sorting ensures that only good and healthy bulbs are used, which makes the garlic powder taste, smell, and look good.

Step 3: Cleaning

After harvesting and sorting, it's time to clean the garlic bulbs. This step involves removing any dirt, debris, or dust that may be on the bulbs. An industrial kitchen is appropriate since this process is a bit tedious and requires equipment. Make sure to use clean water to avoid contamination.

Step 4: Peeling

Once the garlic is clean and dry, peel off the skin. Large-scale producers of garlic powder invest in machinery that can peel garlic on a large scale. For smaller operations, however, hand-peeling is the norm. You can also use mechanical mixers that can peel garlic altogether.

Step 5: Dehydration

After peeling the garlic, you’ll need to dehydrate it. This step is important for the preservation of the garlic powder. At this stage, you can either use a dehydrator or an oven at a low temperature. Spread the garlic cloves out on a tray, and dry them for at least 8 hours. You can then crush them to a fine powder.

Step 6:

Sieving and PackingThe final step in making garlic powder is sieving and packing. Sieving is done to remove any big particles which cannot be broken down through normal means. After sieving, the garlic powder is weighed and packed into containers. Make sure to use food-grade packaging materials to ensure the freshness of the garlic powder.
